The single most important aspect of wedding photography, is the personal relationship that a couple has with their photographer. Of all of the people that you hire to make your day special, your photographer is the one that you will interact with the most before and after your wedding as well as on the wedding day itself. It is important that not only you connect with your photographer personally and that you find them easy to communicate with, but that he or she understands your vision of that day and can document that vision in a way that you will appreciate for years to come. Finding the right photographer for you should be a careful process and can be viewed as an investment for the future. After the day is over and the cake has been eaten, only your cherished photographs will be what remain. Take your time and ask lots of questions.
Wedding photojournalism: This form is widely popular because of its personal coverage style, which transcends the traditional couple and family portraits. In simple terms, brides like it because their album doesn't look like everyone else's. This style is a blend of art direction and artistic enhancement. Art direction and artistic enhancement require more creativity and more skill than covering a wedding like a sporting event. Clients love it because it sets their album apart from all others. The album contains several images that are artistic pieces, true fine art images. The same approach is used as well for the bridal portraits. Wedding coverage consisting of fine art images coupled with wedding photojournalism techniques will set an image collection apart from all others, once again advancing the standard of your wedding coverage.

What is art direction? Art direction is not another phrase for "posed", but does rely on some interaction between the photographer and the subject. I simply call this “Controlled Candid’s”. Generally coverage style can remain unobtrusive during various events of the day, like formal dancing, cake cutting, the ceremony, and even candid reception events. However, there are situations that may warrant a little input or adjustment to craft and image, rather than just simple snapshots of unfolding emotions. We are expert practitioners at art direction and take great care to instruct subjects at a level that is comfortable for them.

What is artistic enhancement? Artistic enhancement is not a means of doctoring an unexciting image, an image should be well planned for lighting and concept, but capturing a great image is only the first step. The creation process of true fine art images starts at coverage and extends beyond development. A good photographer captures a desirable image, while a true fine art photographer will take that image one step further using after process techniques such as:
- Hand coloring treatment
- Artistic darkroom enhancement and toning (transforming color to black and white, adding shadows)
- Creative enhancement with Adobe Photoshop
- Platinum Printing: The ultimate gallery representation
- A wedding event can only be captured once. Don't wedding and bridal images deserve to be true fine art images?

Here are some questions you may consider to ask your wedding photographer: IQphoto
How will you show me pictures for selection (e.g., electronic, proofs, contact sheets, online gallery, etc.)? Will you help me choose the final pictures? How will you make it easy for friends and family to order reprints? What are the costs of the various levels of coverage? Are there diffe

rage? What is your photography style; photojournalistic, traditional, mixed, etc.,? How much for the duplicate prints, albums, folios, enlargements, thank you cards, etc.,? What’s your time frame for preparing the pictures for my selection? How about engagement session? How long do I have to make up my mind as to which pictures I want and how many? How long have you been in business? What kind of guarantee comes with my hiring you? What’s your philosophy to photographing weddings? Will you have an assistant? Do you have travel fees? How much is your overtime fee? What do you plan to do at my wedding to make my wedding photographs unique and personal to me? Do you have a backup? Will you be shooting my pictures personally? Will you use film or digital? Who will I be dealing with after the wedding? What's your payment policy? Do you give any guarantees on your services and photographs? What is the possibility of the pictures fading?
There is huge number of possible questions you can ask your photographer. Most professional photographers will provide you with clear explanations about their services prior to any questions even asked. Many of them have full packages that include certain number of prints, digital files, enlargements, etc., so it is very clear what level of service and final products you should expect.
